In March 2021, the title, Pepper and Sugar in Holy Matrimony surfaced on E-motion Tv facebook page and caused a major stir. But it was not until August 2021 that director Emmanuel Okyere Mensah and his E-motion films crew went on set to produce the movie. On Friday 23rd September 2021, the director and producer announced on the Kasoa based Obaatanpa 92.5 FM that the movie is scheduled to premiere on the 27th November 2021 at the Snap Cinema, inside the AMA new building in Accra.
The movie which is described as an adult movie tells how Mimi and her husband, Edem handle matters arising from their new marriage. How they handle their sexuality, finances, home management, and their individual differences.
The movie is supported by dodo cosmetics, the manufacturers of Jalousie body lotion. Pepper and Sugar is full of romance, comedy, and suspense bundled together into a drama movie. It is targeted to serve as an eye-opener to young adults who just entered into marriage and those who are about to get married.
