The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Pre-tertiary Education, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, has reiterated that government has put in place prudent and strategic measures to abolish the double-track system in the next few years.
He mentioned some measures that had been put in place by the government as strategic planning and the construction of infrastructure in the affected schools to ensure the system was eradicated within the next four years.

The deputy minister explained that the double-track system, which was introduced by the government in 2018 was a remedial measure to ensure that no qualified student was denied access to senior high school education due to the lack of infrastructure or funding from the parents or family.
Huge investment
Dr Adutwum, who disclosed this to the Daily Graphic on Tuesday at Adagya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, stated that the huge investment being made by the government in the education sector was among measures being put in place to ensure that education became the driving force for the nation’s development.
The deputy minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, made the disclosure when, together with, the District Chief Executive and the New Patriotic Party Constituency Chairman for Bosomtwe, Mr. Joseph Kwasi Asuming, he took the media round the constituency to verify the authenticity of government projects undertaken during the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo-led government.
The three-and-half-hour tour took the team to Kuntanase, Onwi, Akokofe, Pramso, Jachie, Prenyase, Aputuogya, and Adagya.
State of affairs
Out of the numerous projects inspected, more than half of them had been completed, while the remaining were at various levels of construction in the district.
The various infrastructure projects in the Bosomtwe District are being funded by the Government of Ghana (GOG), the District Assemblies Common Fund, One Million Dollars Per Constituency, and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), among others.
The deputy minister was upbeat about the completion of the various projects in the district since they would go a long way to boost education and other sectors of the economy.
