After entering the semi-finals, Samuel Takyi won the bronze medal in the men’s lightweight division, boxing brought Ghana back to the medallist for the first time in 29 years.
The heads of the Ghana Olympic Committee and various sports federations wanted Ghana to increase the medallist, but they did not.

Regarding the representatives of Africa, Kenya has won the most medals, with a total of 10 medals (4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze). Followed by Uganda and South Africa, which won 4 and 3 medals respectively.
Egypt and Ethiopia are close behind with 6 and 4 medals respectively, but because there are more bronze medals than gold or silver medals, they rank lower.
Ghana sent 14 Ghanaian athletes to participate in the competition, some of which have made positive progress in their respective sports.
